Book your start time; stay as long as you like.
Obviously, with the British weather, there is always the possibility that we may have to cancel due to too much rain and unsafe conditions. However, we are hopeful that our ground, being on sand, will be as good as it gets and will allow us to go ahead. Should we have to cancel we will refund your fee or move your booking to another day. Once you have booked you are committed to coming; refunds can only be made with a vet's certificate or doctor's note, presented in good time before your booked time or, in the case of a competition, before the start times are published. It is a condition of your booking that you accept these terms. If you have a serious, unexpected issue then we can probably re-book you to another day so please get in touch if this happens.
NO riders under the age of 8. Unfortunately, our insurance does not cover riders who are under 8 or horses/ponies under the age of 3.

How to book
If you try to make a booking and the system says 'CLOSED' you are trying to book on a day that has already gone, that is in the past. Check the day and month and either book for today, or a day in the future. When you click on 'Comphurst Cross Country Course Hire' go next to 'Enter Here' (the purple icon towards the top of that page), click, and pick a start time; this is the time that you intend to start riding. There is currently a time limit for your stay; please be ready to be on the course at your alloted hour and be back at your transport at the end of the hour. Select the number of horses/ponies you want to book for and click through the disclaimer and payment proceedures and then follow the booking process through. Once you have entered your details the majority will come up again when you book in the future, saving you time in future. The booking system works best from a PC or laptop rather than a phone or iPad. We are open everyday all day during the season, weather permitting.
Drive in, park and enjoy your time here. If you have any queries, please ring Tanya on 07541032398
Enter via the PGL entrance and drive up the slope past the white Lodge towards the gate with the CXC sign. Carry straight on and park in the field, as signed. In wet weather, large lorries can turn right immediately after the gate and park on the hard standing next to the barn. Please park in a herringbone fashion, facing the barn and exit downhill past the grain bins. Please park 20m apart due to the curent pandemic.
In the unlikely event that you will require an emergency vehicle, the postcode for the stables field is BN274TX (vehicles come along the lane to Comphurst by the side of The Horseshoe pub and gain access via the field gate from the lane) and the postcode for the parking field is BN274RZ (access is via the main gate from the A271 next to PGL). When booking online, the person making the booking and the payment accepts responsibility for informing the riders that he/she has booked for of the terms and conditions of the disclaimer, and that they are competent users of the facilities. In turn, it is a condition of riding that all riders accept the terms and conditions of the disclaimer in order to ride at Comphurst Farm. All riders must be competent at using the facilities at Comphurst Cross Country. If you are in any doubt, disclaimer forms are available at the gate entrance to the XC course.
Here at Comphurst we love dogs. However, in the past I have picked up several dog 'poo bags' that irresponsible owners have placed under jumps, found dog mess on the course and have witnessed a loose dog in the middle of Comphurst Field, as well as a loose dog in the car park. None of these are acceptable. If people cannot behave responsibly regarding dogs we will have to ban them.
Spectators, Children and Dogs; Health and Safety Policy
For health and safety reasons, we are not allowing non-riding children on the course in the current climate. We also insist that it is a condition of using the facilities at Comphurst Farm that all spectators watch at a safe distance from horses. Dogs are welcome if they are on short leads at all times and their owners must clear up after them.
